The Training Officer assists in planning and implementation of new Department training programs, monitors the effectiveness of current training programs and recommends changes as necessary. He/she assists in planning and development of the program training schedules, ensures prioritization of training needs and reviews training lesson plans for division approval.
The Training Officer assists in the preparation of the training budget, coordinates training with outside agencies, ensures that proper documentation is maintained on all related training programs and maintains inventory of all related training materials, supplies and equipment. Principal assignments include: program coordinator for the Department's Field Training and Evaluation Program, new hire Corrections Deputy orientation and Academy classes.
