Paul Pastor currently serves as Sheriff of Pierce County, Washington. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department consists of 329 law enforcement officers, 305 Corrections Officers and 145 civilian personnel serving in Washington State's second largest County.

Prior to taking this position, he served as Chief of the Department's Operations Bureau in charge of all law enforcement operations (1996 - 2000), Undersheriff for the Clark County Washington Sheriff's Office (1993 - 1996) and Chief of Police for the City of Everett, Washington (1991 - 1992). From 1986 to 1991, he served at the rank of Inspector for the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

In the early 1980's, he was in charge of state staff at the Washington Criminal Justice Training Academy where he also managed the Loaned Executive Program and Washington Crime Watch.

Sheriff Pastor holds a Bachelor's Degree from Pomona College as well as two Master's degrees and a Doctorate from Yale University. He has lectured in several programs at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and has received two special commendations from the Director of the FBI for his contributions to law enforcement management training. He is a graduate of the FBI's National Executive Institute and is a Senior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum.

Sheriff Pastor helped design the national model procedures for policing mass civil disturbance after the World Trade Organization riot in Seattle and also consulted to the International Olympic Security Committee in Salt Lake City in 2001. He serves on state and national committees for emergency mobilization, ethics and intelligence and in 2004 helped develop the National Sheriff's Association WMD training program. In addition, he helped develop the Washington State law on police use of lethal force and the Northwest Law Enforcement Executive Command College.

Undersheriff Eileen Bisson oversees the internal operations of the Sheriff's Department. This includes responsibility for the Operations and Corrections Bureaus as well as Administrative Services which includes Training/Background, Budget/Payroll, Court Security, Civil Unit, Property Room and IT.

Undersheriff Bisson has been with the Sheriff's Department for 25 years. Her past assignments include Operations Chief, Corrections Chief, and Administrative Services Chief. She was Commander of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission; Interim Police Chief for the contract City of Lakewood; Assistant Chief and Operations Lieutenant for Lakewood, Training Unit Sergeant and Patrol Sergeant; D.A.R.E. Officer in various elementary schools throughout Pierce County, and Patrol Deputy where she also was a Field Training Officer and Cadet/Explorer Advisor.

Undersheriff Bisson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. She also has a Masters degree in Public Administration and Business Administration from City University. Undersheriff Bisson has attained her Executive Level certification through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission; she attained Certified Jail Manager status through the American Jail Association and is a graduate of the FBINA Academy.

Chief Rick Adamson is currently assigned as the Bureau Chief of Operations. He was been employed by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for 28 years. His past assignments include Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division; Assistant Chief of the contract city of Lakewood; Patrol Lieutenant and Investigations Lieutenant at South Hill; Interim Director of Public Safety for the Town of Steilacoom; Supervisor of the Foothills Detachment; Patrol Supervisor; Homicide Detective; Gang Intelligence Unit Supervisor; Traffic Deputy; Juvenile Investigator; and Resident Deputy in the Mountain Detachment.

Chief Adamson served with the SWAT Team from 1983-2000 and as the SWAT Commander from 1996-2000. He has also served the Department as a member of the Board of Professional Standards. Captain Adamson was decorated for bravery several times, and has been awarded the Lifeline Medal and two Medals of Merit for outstanding performance.

Chief Adamson is a retired Special Agent with the US Air Force Office of Special investigations, where he served in the US Air Force for 23 years of active duty and reserve service.

Chief Rob Masko is currently assigned as the Bureau Chief of Corrections. He has been employed in law enforcement for 30 years, spending two years with the Fircrest Police Department and the last 28 years with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. His past assignments at the Sheriff's Department include Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division; Police Chief for the City of University Place; Lieutenant of Major Crimes Investigations Unit and Supervisor of the Officer Involved Traumatic Incident Team; Internal Affairs Lieutenant and Mobile Field Force Commander; Police Chief for the City of Lakewood; Lieutenant of Lakewood Criminal Investigations Division and SWAT Team Commander; East Patrol Lieutenant; Detective Sergeant in the Property Crimes Unit, Special Assault Unit, and Supervisor of the Juvenile Investigations Unit; Juvenile Investigator; and Patrol Deputy.

Chief Masko has earned numerous awards including the Pierce County Sheriff's Department Medal of Merit and Medal of Valor, Pierce County Prosecutor's Office Detective of the Year, and Safe Streets Outstanding Officer Award.

Chief Masko graduated Suma Cum Laude from Washington State University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology, and graduated from the FBI National Academy. Chief Masko has earned additional certifications in Supervision, Management and Executive Leadership.

Chief Masko has served on numerous boards and community groups, including Law Enforcement Youth Camp, Crisis Triage Center Board, Tacoma-Pierce County Coalition of Child Sexual Abuse, Crime Free Multi- Housing Program, Tacoma Community College Advisory Board Member, Pierce County Sheriff and Chiefs Association Member, University Place Public Safety Committee Member, Pierce County Terrorism Early Warning/Response Task force, Juvenile Detention Reform Project, Pierce County Chaplaincy Executive Board Member, Fircrest City Council, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, and the TAPCO Credit Union Executive Board; Chief Masko has also coached numerous youth baseball, basketball, and soccer teams.
