Five Works by Local Artists Added to Pierce County Collection
**CANCELED: ART BANK RECEPTION** Due to inclement weather, the reception scheduled for January 17, 2012, has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

Works by Ellen Ito and Jennifer Peters, Chandler O'Leary, Michael Ferguson, Rebecca Schofield, and Kurt Solmssen were the result of a selection panel of current and former arts commissioners, artists, and curators who reviewed more than two hundred works submitted by 45 artists for consideration. Arts Commission Seeks Members
Pierce County is seeking individuals who have a demonstrated interest and familiarity with arts and culture through professional practice, training or volunteer work to serve on the Pierce County Arts Commission. The commission is an advisory body composed of up to 13 volunteers who advise the County Council and Executive on arts-related issues, funding programs and public art projects. Commission meetings are held quarterly, and members serve three-year terms. Applicants must be residents of Pierce County, and certain positions are restricted by County Council district. More>
