From 1988-2009, the Margaret K. Williams Arts Awards were given to individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the development of the arts in Pierce County. Recipients are selected for initiative and innovation, and are honored at a reception.

Nomination forms for the awards are made available in July. Awards are presented at the annual reception in November.

Margaret K. Williams

Margaret K. Williams was a member of the Pierce County Arts Commission and was active in the arts for many years. She played a major role in shaping the Commission's ongoing commitment to the recognition and celebration of Pierce County's cultural diversity. Following her death in 1990, the Commission named these awards in her honor.
