Class Description:
The mission of Project WET is to reach children, parents, educators and communities of the world with water education. We invite Pierce County Educators (K-12) to join us in educating children about the most precious resource on the planet - water.
This course will introduce Pierce County Educators (K - 12) to the comprehensive and hands-on curriculum guide, and experience resources and activities found in the guide through a variety of learning formats, such as discussion of local watershed issues, large and small group learning, whole-body activities and outdoor field sessions. Through the activities, participants will learn the variety of ways that watershed education can be integrated into the school curriculum to accomplish existing essential learning requirements.
Activities:
Activities in the Project WET guide contain information that make water education relevant and meaningful to young people, accommodating diverse learning styles, and are practical, thought-provoking and engaging. The course provides a foundation for educators to encourage additional in-depth study of and participation in local issues that affect our local watersheds.
