Salmon and other beneficial uses (users?) of Pierce County waterways need healthy watersheds to thrive. Water Quality & Watersheds staff administer the Salmon Recovery Lead Entity for the Puyallup/White and Chambers/Clover watersheds (WRIAs 10/12) and participate in other Lead Entity organizations as they meet their statutory role to identify and recommend salmon recovery projects to the state for funding. Staff also participates with and supports the local regional fisheries enhancement group in Pierce County, which has an important role in restoring salmon streams on both public and private lands.
