2. Know what you want. Simple permit applications have a separate line and are processed quickly in our lobby. Examples include base plan setups, land use applications, plumbing and mechanical permits. Plumbing, mechanical and residential re-roof permits are also issued online. If you know what you're looking for, you can keep your wait to a minimum.
3. Know what to expect. Depending on the type of project you're working on you may or may not need an appointment to submit your proposal. General information on the types of applications and the process you can expect to follow can be found here.
4. Come prepared. Double check your submittal checklist first. You'd be surprised at how many applicants discover they've forgotten something important.
5. Keep track by phone. Once you have signed up at our reception desk, you may leave and call back later at (253) 798-7210 ext. 5036. We'll let you know when your meeting time is getting close.
6. Permits On Line. Some Permits are also issued on line, go to our On-Line Permit Information Center. Read and accept the Pierce County Welcome Page. Click on Applications/Permits in the green bar across the top of page. Choose Apply For A Permit from the drop down menu. You must register in order to apply online. It can take 20 minutes or more to receive your password.
