The Lawyer Referral Service is a convenient way of introducing you to an experienced attorney for your particular legal problems. The registered attorneys with our service are in private practice; are participating members, in good standing, of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association; and are considered qualified in their areas of practice.

1. CALL - Lawyer Referral at 383-3432

2. ASK - An operator will briefly evaluate your situation over the phone to determine the nature of your legal matter. Remember, the operator cannot give you legal advice, they can only refer you to a lawyer.

You will be asked to briefly explain your legal problem. We will then choose a lawyer who handles your type of case to advise you, and we will set up an appointment--at a time and location convenient for you. After the appointment is made with the lawyer, we will call with the information concerning your appointment. No appointments will be made for telephone consultations. Lawyer Referral operators cannot give you legal advice, we can only refer you to a lawyer.

3. SET APPOINTMENT - a 30-minute appointment will be scheduled for you with a lawyer who has the experience with your type of legal problem. The appointment will be scheduled at a time and location that's convenient for you.

4. GET ANSWERS - You will meet with the attorney in his or her office. (No appointments will be made for telephone consultations). Be sure to bring all documents and information relating to your problem to this meeting. A $25 fee will be charged for the initial 30-minute consultation with the lawyer.

If your problem requires work beyond the first half hour, you're under no obligation to pay more than the initial $25 fee unless you decide to hire the attorney as your legal representative.
