SRC Skateboard Park

Harold E LeMay Skateboard Park bowl Pierce County Parks and Recreation held the highly anticipated grand opening of the Harold E. LeMay Skateboard Park at Sprinker Recreation Center on October 29, 2005.

The Harold E. LeMay Skateboard Park is one of the largest all concrete skateboard parks in the state.

The Skate Park is located behind the recreation building adjacent to the new baseball fields. It has skate features for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels including:

  • a peanut bowl with pool coping 9' and 11' in depth
  • an out of site snake run from 8'-11' deep
  • a 10' vert wall
  • 14' clamshell
  • half pipes
  • waves
  • banks
  • rails and steps
  • multiple shade structures and bleachers for families and viewing

New Check In Procedures - Effective June 1

  • All participants must check in at the front office prior to entering the skate park.

  • After 5:00 pm or on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays participants must check in with the Park Security.
  • Helmets required (18 & under)
  • Must have skate board/scooter board/roller blades
  • No Loitering
  • No Spectating without adult supervision
  • No Bikes

  • Skate at own risk and know your limits
  • Use care to avoid injury to yourself and others
  • Food, drink, glass objects prohibited in skating area
  • Possession of alcoholic beverages prohibited
  • Sprinker Recreation Center is a no-smoking facility
  • Animals prohibited
  • Loud, inappropriate music and/or lyrics prohibited
  • Physical and verbal abuse, or public disturbance prohibited
  • Inappropriate, offensive or gang apparel prohibited

The skaebooard park will be closed during inclement weather or non-compliance of park rules and regulations


Altrusa Group

The Harold E. Le May Skate Park at Sprinker Recreation Center is a result of a joint partnership between Pierce County Parks and Recreation and the Altrusa Foundation, a non-profit service organization.

The Altrusa Foundation applied for and received a State Development Grant for $275,000. The Altrusa Foundation raised an additional $150,000 toward the project and the Pierce County Parks and Recreation contributed the land and $125,0000 for the project.

Local youths help with design

Local skaters of all ages participated in the design process for the park.

The final design is a result of their efforts and participation.

From the North/South:

  • From I-5, take exit 127 to Highway 512 going east (Mt. Rainier/Puyallup).
  • On Highway 512, take the second exit (Parkland/Spanaway-Pacific Ave)
  • At the stop light turn right onto Pacific Avenue (SR 7). Head south for 2.7 miles
  • Turn right on Military Road (152nd St).
  • Sprinker Center is 1 1/2 blocks down on the right.
  • The Skate Park is located behind the recreation building adjacent to the new baseball fields.

From the East:

  • Go west on Highway 512.
  • Take the Mt. Rainier/Hiway 7 exit and follow the off ramp around to your left.
  • At the stoplight turn left onto Pacific Avenue.
  • Go south on Pacific Avenue for 2.7 miles
  • Turn right on Military Road (152nd St.)
  • Sprinker Center is 1 1/2 blocks down on the right.
  • The Skate Park is located behind the recreation building adjacent to the new baseball fields.
