Art for Kids

This multi-media art program is oriented and designed to enhance a child?s enjoyment of art and creative expression. Drawing and painting will be explored in this hands on class. The media includes pen and ink, charcoal, acrylic, and soft and oil pastels. All supplies included.

Babydance

A fun filled hour of Mommie and Me time! Partner exercises with other parents. Rolling balls, playing baby instruments, large drums, and parachute fun! Social skills, meeting other children, and following directions help develop classroom skills. Weekly handouts included.

Toddler Two Step

Dance with different props like wands with stars and hearts, and multi-colored streamers. Plus march with instruments and parachute fun! Children develop skills for following directions and being in a classroom setting. Sing and dance to different types of music. Weekly handouts included.

Hip Hop Dance

Learn basic dance steps. Emphasis on high energy, turns, and fl exibility. Be prepared for a challenge while learning routines and great choreography. Wear comfortable clothing and nonmarking soled shoes. No jeans.

Young Ladies and Gentleman 1

Children rarely beg for the opportunity to attend a class on manners, and yet it is the key to building positive friendships and strong self-esteem. This fun hands-on workshop teaches telephone etiquette, basic table manners, introductions, personal care and posture. Each student receives a 'goodie bag' to take home. Don't be surprised if they come out asking for more!

Young Ladies and Gentleman 2

Taking Young Ladies and Gentlemen 1 is not required for this class, but it is a natural follow up. One of the fi rst social settings that children encounter is being a guest. Learning how to be a gracious guest, guest of honor, or host are skills they will use throughout life.

Boys and girls will learn about invitiations, practice meeting and greeting, polite conversation, giving and receiving gifts, basic table manners while neatly eating birthday cake, and how to create their own thank you notes. Cake will be served in this class.

Roach Gymnastics

Do your kids love to run, jump and flip around? Come have fun learning gymnastic skills in a high energy environment. Basic tumbling, low beam, low bar, and vault is the emphasis of this program. The parachute, bubbles, or a game at the end of each class and everyone gets a stamp. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes.

Toe, Tap & Tumble - Sprinker

These dance and movement combination classes will cover beginner and intermediate ballet exercises, tap dancing skills and a progression of gymnastic tumbling. The programs will develop each youngster's flexibility, balance and total body coordination. Students should wear shorts or leotard, tap or hard-soled shoes and soft ballet slippers.

Tae Kwon Do/Hapkido - NEW

Learn self control, discipline, respect, and economy of motion while learning martial arts. This martial arts class teaches Olympic style Tae Kwon Do as well as Hapkido (the art of using pressure points and joint locks).

Students will learn effective punching and kicking techniques as well as throws and useful self defense moves. Uniform provided upon enrollment. Additional fees paid at class for testing.

Tae Kwon Do

Designed to teach self discipline, confidence, agility, balance and effective means of defense. An excellent exercise for body conditioning and stamina. Traditional Korean-style Karate and Tae Kwon Do techniques are coupled with Hapkido, a discipline incorporated self-defense techniques. This program will include Olympic style, traditional weapons and boxing training. Taught by career instructors with multiple years of experience.

American Red Cross Babysitter's Training

This one day class covers the skills required of a safe, responsible babysitter. Learn supervision and play with children of various ages, basic child care, basic first aid, safety precautions, accident prevention and critical emergency action skills.

Participants should bring a non-refrigerated sack lunch/snacks for a half hour meal break.

American Red Cross Home Alone Safety Training

Course will prepare youth to respond safely to situations when direct parental supervision is unavailable; includes roleplay door/visitor and phone safety, gun and internet safety, house key and personal safety, first aid situations, and family communications. Students receive a participant book, phone and note pads, 911 cards, fire escape plan, and responsibilities poster.
