The Lakewood Area Shelter Association (LASA) is a nonprofit organization committed to preventing homelessness through support services and to providing transitional shelter to homeless families.

LASA offers two complementary programs, Emergency Outreach and Transitional Housing. Clients who receive assistance through Outreach must reside in the City of Lakewood.

Outreach

• Prevention is the key to Outreach. This is accomplished by providing emergency relief through:
  • Utility Assistance
  • Bus Vouchers
  • Furniture Vouchers
  • Rental Assistance

   

Transitional Housing

• LASA offers transitional housing to families with children. We help families help themselves by providing a safe haven while they rebuild their lives.
  • Families are provided life skills training, services with partnering agencies and case management
  • Rental Assistance may be available to homeless families with children to cover move-in costs as well as partial rent on a short-term basis
