The YWCA of Tacoma & Pierce County serves more than 4,000 women and children each year by providing growth, leadership and power opportunities.

What are growth, leadership and power opportunities?

They include:

• Operation S.M.A.R.T., an experiential science and math program for girls;
• Generation YW, a leadership development program for teen women;
• Women's Health education, prevention and intervention services;
• a 24-hour domestic violence shelter and hotline;
• the Passages transitional housing program;
• civil legal advocacy for survivors of domestic violence;
• a donation bank and volunteer program;
• the Insights domestic violence prevention education program;
• Workfirst domestic violence training and crisis intervention;
• and The Business of Violence, supporting business to enhance the safety of their workplace.
