Master Gardener Program

The Master Gardener Program, through WSU Pierce County Cooperative Extension, provides research based information on home horticulture. Trained Volunteers are prepared to help with advice on growing plants, insect identification and managing disease problems.

During The Western Washington State Fair look for us in the Agriculture Building, or visit the MG Demonstration Garden located at 7711 Pioneer Way, Puyallup. The Demo garden is open to the public Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A plant clinic is available year- long, weekday 9 am - 4 pm at the WSU Cooperative Extension Office, 3049 S 36th. Additionally, over 20 plant clinics, staffed by Master Gardeners are set up throughout Pierce County during the growing season.

Basic Training to become a Master Gardener runs yearly, January through March. After completion of the 60-hour course, Master Gardeners are asked to contribute a minimum of 60 hours answering other gardeners questions during the growing season.
