Mission Statement

As the only public law library in Pierce County, the mission of the Pierce County Law Library is to provide county-wide convenient access to current legal information including explanatory materials. The library will provide information in print and electronic formats as are suitable for the diverse Pierce County community to use in criminal and civil litigation and for the resolution of personal and business legal matters. Our mission is also to provide trained and knowledgeable Library staff to assist patrons in meeting their legal information needs.

Casemaker Libra is a searchable library of Washington State treatises, practice guides, coursebooks, deskbooks, and continuing legal education (CLE) materials.
NCLC has consumer protection information, such as:
* Mortgages and Foreclosure;
* Student Loan Forgiveness;
* Car Sales, and
* Bankruptcy. 
NOLO has self-help books covering topics of "everyday" law, including:
* Family Law;
* Wills & Estate Planning;
* Small Business & Employment;
* Real Estate, and many more.
T-R West
Westlaw is a comprehensive legal research database that is offering patron access passwords that are good for 20 hours of use over 14 days. You need to register at the above link and choose "Government--State or Local" in the Organization field type. Further instructions.

​Form Packets for Sale

The Library sells self-help form packets on a variety of topics.

Packets may be purchased online with Paypal or by appointment at the Library.

  • Online Orders are processed Monday-Friday during hours of operation. If you're requesting forms be mailed, please expect a delay for USPS processing.
  • To purchase a packet at the Library, call (253) 798-2691 for an appointment.
