About the Project
Pipeline Trail

Looking for a new view of Mt. Rainier? The Pipeline Trail, a multi-modal, non-motorized trail along the Tacoma Water Pipeline, will provide that and more! Pipeline Trail will connect the trail already built by the City of Tacoma all the way to South Hill.

The County will build the trail from 72nd Street East to Heritage Recreation Center in Puyallup in the first phase. The trail will eventually connect to the Foothills Trail

In 2019, Pierce County will begin design of the trail and trailheads. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2022.

Outreach Summary

Over 50 stakeholders attended the first Pipeline Trail design meeting, held at the Summit Library on December 17, 2019. Consultants MacLeod Reckord presented an over view of the project through design posters and power point, which you may access below.

After the presentation, stakeholders were given time to ask questions and share ideas and concerns about the trail project.

The next stakeholder meeting and the first public meeting will take place in early February.
