Pierce County Human Services is announcing a funding opportunity for non-profit organizations interested in providing services to homeowners in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of $2.2 million will be used to target homeowners who have suffered a COVID-19 related loss of income and are at risk of foreclosure.

The priority is to support public health related needs of people at risk of foreclosure through foreclosure prevention counseling and direct mortgage assistance. The estimated funding allocation for direct mortgage assistance is $2 million, with the remaining $200,000 going towards foreclosure prevention counseling.

To be considered for the first round of funding, submit an application on or before June 12, 2020. This funding is provided through the federal CARES Act as part of the community response and resilience plan. Funds are available until expended or the need is fulfilled.
