Round 2 Award Recipients of CARES Funding for Homelessness Announced

Pierce County Human Services is announcing the funding decision from round 2 from federal CARES Act dollars. These expenditures are part of the community response and resilience plan to prevent people from losing their current housing, keep people in shelters safe and provide necessary resources to our unsheltered residents. A total of $2,364,697 will be allocated to the following agencies:


Hygiene/Sanitation Services - $71,243

  • Homeward Bound- New Hope
  • Salvation Army- Puyallup
  • Salvation Army- Tacoma
  • Sea Mar Community Health Center


Rental Assistance - $1,493,656

  • Children’s Home Society of Washington
  • Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region
  • Korean Women’s Association
  • LASA
  • Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center
  • Salvation Army- Puyallup
  • Tacoma Recovery Center


Emergency Shelter Expansion - $799,798

  • City of Puyallup
  • City of Puyallup
  • Community Youth Services
  • Metropolitan Development Council Bethlehem Shelter
  • Salvation Army- Puyallup
  • Salvation Army- Tacoma


Additional funding for housing stability and homelessness will become available soon.
